Where is coffee grown?

Great question!

Coffee is grown all over the world. Specialty coffee only grows under strict conditions (it’s a fussy plant). Typically the Arabica plant is grown around 3000 feet and higher. It is grown in the ‘Coffee Belt’ around the equator, between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. Much of it has to be harvested by hand (which is epic when you see the mountains they grow on). It gets sorted by amazing women who sit all day separating specialty beans from unripe, Not So Special Beans.

At our roastery we source, taste, roast and deliver some of the most exotic and quality beans on offer. By sharing this coffee with you, we hope to educate and expand the Specialty Coffee Industry worldwide and improve the environment and the lives of the people who are part of it.

At Black Market Roasters, we specialise in fresh, exotic and sweet single origins from around the world. We supply cafes in Sydney and helping raise the standard of cafes that we love to visit. We retail many different types of coffee as well as decaffeinated coffee beans, light roast coffee beans plus more!
